What with it being Thanksgiving (or Thursday over here) I thought I'd take the opportunity to get a bit sentimental about SCH...

So, this old SCH.. I became a member (after lurking for a while) during the cup run. I was brand new to the sport and based six timezones away from Chicago.. hovered around making the odd comment here and there, screwed up on the odd occasion (thanks to CNS for gently pointing out an early Fanpost/Shot error) and generally enjoyed the run to the Cup..

Now I've become a regular in this metaphorical bar..

I know that most of what I post tends to be lame jokes/photo links/terrible photoshops and the odd Hockey-related comment.. this is because I still feel like I'm learning about Hockey (only my third full season as a fan) and am not qualified to discuss Pinching D-men or Slot-Plays.. just because I'm figuring out what those things are and learning what they look like...

But I've never been made to feel unwelcome here, in fact the erudite postings from many SCH'ers has helped my understanding of the game no end.. and I've also had a huge amount of fun here. So many of you have been happy to answer my dumb questions and give me guidance that it would take me hours just to list you.

So, what I'm trying to say, is that this blog kicks ass.. it not only has the most knowledgeable, wise and caring people in the blogosphere, it also has a load of activity and Commitment to the Indian..

It's an online community that shares its highs (Cup win, comeback against the 'Nucks last year) and its lows (Burrows....)

Not to mention that SCH has the best taste in music of any blog, anytime, anywhere.. any site that goes to the effort of actually finding Pelican lyrics rules...

OK, anyone would think that it was some sort of holiday here.. it ain't but I'm happy and proud to be a part of SCH..
