NYT: The Life and Death of a Hockey Enforcer

Well-written three-part series from the New York Times on Derek Boogaard, who died last May of an overdose. After reading this, personally I can no longer in good conscious cheer a hockey fight.

I read this a few days ago and it's very dark

I think the worst part is that Canadian junior leagues are grooming 13 and 14 year olds kids to fight. Those kids should be playing hockey and advancing on their skills rather than busting someone’s head open.
