Chris Campoli Has Knee Surgery
It's not surprising that in the post-mortem of the 2011 Blackhawks season that there would be injuries that were long-hidden finally tended to. What is surprising is that the first of which is Chris Campoli, who underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee, an injury those who have suffered through it can vouch for being pretty damn uncomfortable. It's a relatively minor procedure, and Campoli should be able to recuperate enough in time for regular pre-season work outs, but one might speculate that this would lower his RFA return cost ever so slightly, and every ruble still counts. While it doesn't excuse his death knell turnover in Game 7's OT, he can certainly be commended for playing through it at a (mostly) competent level.
