Nicknames For The Smallies
Messrs. Andrew Shaw and Jimmy Hayes have recently joined us from Rock Vegas. They've both made an immediate impact with a Fight (for Shaw) and Goals.. we like them. They can play on our Hockey Team. But clearly the most pressing need for both of these rookies is their Official SCH Nickname. Other blogs get away with lazy puns or associations "KesLORD", "Kapitan Koivu" etc.. we here at SCH pride ourselves on the obscurity of our naming process..
"Fabulous Weapon"
"Sad Panda"..
So, here's an open thread for nicknames for the boys.. let's throw some shit at the wall and see what sticks!
To kick off, I go for "Voodoo Chile" for Jimmy...

Buzzshaw for Shaw
I choose Smog for Jimmy. A synonym for Haze…Hayes…maybe its dumb.

That could work...
but we change it to Smaug (in honor of the dragon in the Hobbit) and it becomes completely obscure.
See if you can guess what I am now.

Can't Hayes just be "The Jimmy"?
And I second Buzzshaw for Shaw. That or Napolean since he’s tiny (for an NHL player) but ruthless and relentless
There are three types of people in this world: those who can count, and those who can't.
How bout Napolean Dynamite?
Because he’s small and explosive?
Aw, screw it – Buzz Shaw it is!

I kind of like Smaug from IHC
I prefer GMC over ‘The Jimmy’. As for Shaw, IHC’s Hobbit reference got me thinking that Shaw looks a bit like Meriodac Brandybuck. I refuse to suggest Merry, so how about Buckshaw?
If you must scream to get noticed, maybe you should whisper instead
I am so completely lost
With everything you posted. You lost me after The Hobbit… :(

We should start calling Foley Tom Bombadil
Expresses himself in odd ways, at times doesn’t seem at all concerned with the plight of the main characters, has been around practically as long as the Hawks themselves, very jolly (in more ways than one)…
Because a blog of alcoholics just isn't complete without a Scot.

Everytime I hear the name Jimmy, I think Jimmy Two Times from Goodfellas...
Imma go get the papers, get the papers… lol
But it’s not like that really applies to hockey though…

When I hear Shaw I think of 2 things
The movie Glory- The commander of the 54th Mass.
And Big Band leader Artie Shaw
So Glory would be my choice. Maybe we can switch his number to 54.

Since we're all about obscurity here
My suggestion(s) for Shaw – either of Robert Shaw’s two best roles: Quint or Mr. Blue
