Kane has got to start delivering like a franchise player
This is the type of game when a much-hyped star needs to deliver. This team is facing adversity and it would be nice if Kane could start to transcend. I like Kane. But for chrissakes he needs to start getting it done. There is truth to the growing perception across hockey that he is the most overrated wing in the game.

Kane is immune from criticism among the numbnuts
The diehard Hawk fans and the knowledgeable hockey fans are deeply distressed with Kane’s play. If you look at only his 2010 season and 2011 season to date then conclusion would be that Kane is a relatively non-descript one-way style right winger. His fall-off in the last 18 months has been shocking. Look at the numbers. Look at which teams he has scored on in terms of goals and assists. Etc. Etc. Etc.

But facts cannot be ignored. Kane has devolved into a non-descript right wing with atrocious defensive ability. He’s an NHL commodity as this point…NOT a so-called “franchise” player with differentiated and magical skill set.
