I've got a really bad feeling about Sharp
All this quiet and hush makes me fear the worst.
by JesusMarianHossa on Jan 9, 2012 10:24 AM CST reply actions
Yes it was
You can’t really get much lower with out laying down. He was not tryin to get body, he tried to get only below the waist. Major Clipping was a good call, and he is due for some time out time. The reason clipping carries the Major and Misconduct part is because it is dangerous, as he proved with the result being a concussion.

Marchand and Lucic both booted and possibly suspended
If you had to chose two B’s to make the list most likley to do this one one game, These are the two I would have picked!
Both have a problem with skating up to the line then sprinting over it from tough to dirty!

i didn't hear about lucic, what'd he do?

He may have left the bench during a line brawl
He was given a GM during the game, but whether he was substituted legaly or not is still up in the air, since the brawl occured as he was changing. If it is determined he did leave the bench, it is an auto 10 game suspension.
by Toews-makes-funny-faces on Jan 9, 2012 11:31 AM CST up reply actions
oh wow, to be honest i can't see him getting suspended, esp. if there's some gray area on when he went out
but guess we will see
"Well now you're just talking like Foghorn Leghorn!"
by justforkicks on Jan 9, 2012 11:48 AM CST up reply actions
No gray area on this.
He was “on” the bench and left,(one skate in one skate out) the real question is did his relief take to the ice, if so he left the bench for a fight and gets banned for 10. If his relief did not take to the ice he was not yet substituted and could join the fight.
It really comes down to did he relief touch the ice, no gray area at all.
by Toews-makes-funny-faces on Jan 9, 2012 11:53 AM CST up reply actions
i meant gray area in terms of whether it was legal or not (due to what you just said), but that's not the right terminology I guess

wasn't that Game Misconduct rescinded after reviewing the tape?
Or am I thinking of someone else?
by Katherine215 on Jan 9, 2012 12:36 PM CST up reply actions
I don't know
I have not heard anything since saturday about this, so it could have been.
by Toews-makes-funny-faces on Jan 9, 2012 12:38 PM CST up reply actions
Google has all the answers
It was rescinded, he entered the ice legally.
My memory isn’t going quite yet. :)

Lots of "ifs" but...
If it is a broken wrist and you can show that Hudler caused it, can that go to Shanahan? It would clearly be reckless use of the stick causing injury.
Random Question
Pred fan here… I come in (relative) peace. I’ll be in Chicago with a couple buddies for our Tuesday January 24 matchup… Wondering what you guys would suggest as far as tickets — as in, are there often plenty to scalp for reasonable $ at the arena before the game, or am I better off just buying what I need through a typical online broker (stubhub/gotickets/etc) before we come up?
’preciate any advice; looking forward to the game…
I rarely see actual scalpers outside the UC
but maybe I’m just oblivious. I think you’re better off checking Ticket Exchange or Stub Hub. Sometimes, the team releases some via Ticketmaster a day or two before the game. Good luck and enjoy the game, even if your team goes home in defeat. :)

I am a season ticketholder and don't think I have seen anyone selling tickets all year
Always safer to go through the Hawks Ticketexchange which is buying directly from the Hawks or StubHub that has a guarantee.
selling tickets outside the UC, that is
Plenty of people looking for tix.
The one game I did go to
I saw two separate people selling tickets outside. Then again, it was against CBJ on the 12/26.
It's on, bitches.
Tweeping as @ehirtens
Thanks all...
Yeah, I’ve been to the UC twice (a 4-1 Preds victory and a 6-3 Preds loss) but local friends had my tickets those times so didn’t have to think about it. We’ll just go ahead and buy some so there’s nothing to worry about.
Thanks again; let me know where a good pre-game bar is and we’ll hope to see y’all there.

Haymarket
It’s an excellent brewpub just a couple miles east of the UC. Plus, they have a free UC shuttle for most (if not all) home games! Haymarket Pub & Brewery
I second this place
They’ll give you a ride, and their Micro Brews are pretty good… didn’t think I liked beer at all until I had their Stout.

i think this is why the hawks like having carcillo around.
i would be willing to bet the wings wouldn’t be so rough with us if he was lurking on the ice. i mean, we got bullied around last night.

I don't believe that
Mayers will drop the gloves and is much better at Hockey. Monty will drop the gloves, Shaw would drop the gloves.
Besides, it’s not like Carcillo was some great fighter. He fought and won some and lost some. If Carcillo’s contribution was that he was lurking the ice and at any time he’ll do something dangerous, then I don’t want him on the team. I would rather opposing teams fear our PP rather than some lunatic who just might end your career. No thanks.
I believe that's the same reasoning Q has for playing Scott.

It's going to be really interesting to see how Stanbow reacts...
…if Sharp’s injury is as bad as early indications. If he doesn’t go all out to trade for a top 6 guy it might be an indication of what he realistically thinks of our chances to go deep in the spring.
If Bowman doesn't go get someone because he doesn't think much of our chances in spring, then he is insane

omg dustin penner
I woke up fine, sat down to eat and it locked right up. It never happened to me before. I couldn’t stand up. I was probably at the third stage of evolution….Apparently it’s one of those mysterious things, where you can throw it out (from) sneezing. I just leaned over to dip into some delicious pancakes that my wife made. It’s just like it [the pain] wraps around you and squeezes. … So it was disappointing.

sneezes
First time I threw out my back sneezing I thought it was the most bizarre thing in the world. By about the third time I learned my lesson. It ain’t the sneeze it’s the position of the back when you sneeze. If you feel one coming on for gawds sake straighten your back. No tying your shoes or bending over a sink. That bend in the back when you sneeze can really hurt you.

“We all know that [Vigneault’s] got the same type of players on his team and they’ve all done the same thing. You just have to look at Burrows putting his blade in Thornton’s throat. now I'm blushing
eh, some times you get lucky with nicknames – must be all that hate that brought that one to fruition. Wish I could come up with a few for Kronwall – maybe Kornhole?
I think the hate really got into full gear last season
first after he went after Stals when his back was turned, for no earthly reason whatsoever – oooh, what a big, tough D – man! Then he slammed Kane into the boards with one of the worst non – calls of the series, naturally occuring in the 7th game. The post – game interviews with Kane’s face looking like a giant welt really were infuriating.
all of Chimpy's interviews
have is face looking like a giant welt on the arse of humanity… must be his natural charm!
"Kevin, You can't play Doom Metal while wearing a scarf"
remember when people were saying he was just selling the call (in fact Keith was yelling at him to get off the ice!)
and that he got into a bar fight and that’s what got him the black eye? Yeah, good times
"Well now you're just talking like Foghorn Leghorn!"
Speaking of Kronwall
Why does he even bother wearing a visor? He’s protecting about 2/3rds of his 5-head.
