Great turn out last Sunday, we had 13 or 14 guys show up so we played 4 v. 4 with goalies on both sides with a couple of subs. The intensity level was at an all time high. We had some really good board battles (guys are starting to not concede a corner puck and are starting to get in there and fight for it, which is awesome) and played for about 3 hours.
We played 2 and 1/2 games calling the last game a little early due to a couple of knee twists and lack of oxygen.
Red team won both games and if I remember we were winning the last game when it ended. Big ups to Fred for coming out and playing goalie and Sam for making his triumphant return and reminding everyone that he is better than us.
Lukas, Brian (drunk Tim's less-drunk little brother), Fred and myself all played goalie at some point on Sunday.
We should have nice weather this weekend so come on out. NWO Rick will be there and you should to.
What is the SCH INLINE HOCKEY CLUB?
It is a group of people who wanted to play a casual game of hockey. A game that doesn't have the cost and frustration associated with signing up for a league.
How often do you play?
Where do you play?
Hoffman Estates at a rink called Pine Park right off route 62.
When do you play?
Usually 10 a.m.
How many people usually come?
We've been averaging about 10-12 people a week.
What do I need to play?
Skates and a stick! Most people also wear hockey gloves. Some wear helmets and shin pads as well.
Do you have refs?
No, but we have a call it as we see it penalty system. The honorable play of our members has kept the injuries shockingly low considering we've played 50 some games.
What skill levels do you have?
All across the board: from first time players to hockey lifers. We balance the teams out to keep them even.
What do I need to do to join?
Just come out Sunday with your skates! I'll introduce myself while you're awkwardly sitting on the bleachers wondering why you're doing this.
Anything else I should know?
If you have any other questions, just post them at the bottom of this page. It is really something you should come see for yourself: a dozen people getting together to play a fun, free game of hockey!
