Can we start making hair jokes about Brendan Morrison yet?
Because whatever is happening up there, it ain’t good. He needs some sod on the fairway.

Or he could go for the Jammer look
If bruno does it, we could have a fourth line of balding veterans. The Picard Line
What does a guy have to do
to get a TWSS around here?

Well done sir... well done

I'm a bit worried about Shaw.
I like his game even though the scoring is probably done for the season.
Is he chirping a lot, or other teams just running him because he is small? Or maybe he’s not used to playing with adults and has to adjust to the size? It just seems like he’s getting nailed hard all the time.
I feel the same way about Kruger.
He always has someone up in his business or maybe he’s up in theirs, I’m not sure.
They're rookies, small rookies, expect them to get hit and best case scenario draw penalties...
No Shagga, No Dagga
The whole shawfacts thing probably didn't help
Gotta be an element of putting the upstart in his place
Hey! I take penumbrage at that!
Both he and Kruger
tend to go to areas where they will get punished. It is to their credit… but i’d have to think that incurs a physical toll that will result in injury, at some point.
shaw likes to hit
he does it a lot. they are probably trying to send a message that he doesn’t give a fuck about.

Ventured over to the Dark Side this morning just to take a peek
Both teams are fantastic, and have guys that you can’t help but respect, even if they wear the Four Feathers. Its not like the Finals rivalry where there is a real, honest hatred that you would imagine might extend into the offseason. I get the feeling if a Bruin and a Canuck met at a resort, there might be a rumble.
I would light Alexandre Burrows on fire if I saw him.

I think it's partly a fan rivalry
and also a Buff/Eager/Burish/Ladd (had a good feud with Kesler for while) driven rivalry. Now that they’re all gone these games are a bit more laid back.
Just a bit though, what with Fluffy only being there to stomp on people, Bieksa being a prick, Alberts being…whatever it is we’re pissed at him for (I honestly forget).
Wise men say: "Forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for late pizza"
Alberts hit Brouwer
and Brouwer didn’t like it and yelled, Fuck you, Alberts! and the on-ice mic picked it up.
I do think
for all the “hatred” that ours is a hockey rivalry now…built on the respect that comes from losing on both sides…whereas the Bruins are a bunch of syphilitic assholes that can rot and die.
As I understand it in the US if A, the New England area is known for asshole fans more than Chicago, right?

I think Philly – NY – Boston vie for the honor, once you set aside specific rivalries.
Boston fans are hated because their teams have been successful the last 10 years and because they forgot how much the Red Sox and Bruins used to suck/heartbreak, kind of like the guy who’s made it to the top and forgotten his friends. It’s like when white trash has airs, except there’s also the New England buttoned-up tight-ass thing so it’s complicated.
New York fans are hated because of the snooty Yankee/Giant tradition thing and because New Yorkers are insufferable about living in the greatest city in the universe, etc.
Philly fans are viewed pretty much as walking sludge. Imagine the worst thing a person can do and a Philly fan has either already done it, will do it soon enough or is in an imbecilic rage because he didn’t think of it himself.
Chicago doesn’t inspire the same hatred, though maybe in the rest of the midwest? Chicago also has the Cubs, which leads to the “typically has less to cheer about” cited above.

New York fans are hated because of the snooty Yankee/Giant tradition thing and because New Yorkers are insufferable about living in the greatest city in the universe, etc.
But yeah, the Philly thing was also spot on.

for what they’ve accomplished over the past 120 years and liking their fans are two different things…
Thank you, sir! May I have another?
love it
painted a pretty clear picture.
Does not explain those assholes in Detroit though!
Honestly though, to keep a sustained hatred for a long time, it has to be nasty all the time.
Our two teams may not like each other, but they sure respect each other.

It is a never ending sess-pool of "Only Boston can win because......"
It does not matter if it is the MLB, NFL or NHL, they feel when they win, that is the ONLY way it can be won, and since that is how they play everyone else sucks and is soft/weak/shallow/slow, etc…………
by Toews-makes-funny-faces on Feb 1, 2012 3:30 PM CST up reply actions
yeah and they conveniently forgot that the Patriots are the worst of cheaters
fuck that hooded asshole of a coach and fuck the NFL for letting their asshole of an owner off the hook for all of that bullshit. I have a friend from there and he hates it when I point out that all the cheating negates their championships, since each one was won within a very small margin of error – therefore, FAKES.
definitely for Hoodyboy.
In Vancouver, we were told we were fucking whiners for mentioning the Bruins were dirty last year. That they got away with shit ( for me, how in the fuck can you do a front naked choke move on a guy like Boychuck did to Raymond, drive them into the boards with enough force to break their back, and skate up the ice!) Mase never did the public blame thing, and in some circles that was another factor…
in addition to the Rayboy, Daniel thing that gets way too much press as a “reason” the Bruins were tougher.
Canucks lost for a bunch of reasons, but they did outhit the Bruins over that series, and were the leader in playoff hits for the whole run by almost 200 hits!
Yet were told that it was the “wrong way”, a somewhat throwaway answer on a question of how he would have played a shot was turned into a mortal sin and insult to Timmy, as was what I hoestly thought was an attempt at humour between two Quebecers when Lappy committed another “mortal sin” by “taunting” Bergeron. ( Burrows should never have did what he did there…but that was another example of hyperbole)
I have never seen a media troupe in lockstep with the team the way the Boston media gets. In any sport. Hockey and football especially seem bad.
The Sox, I liked their first win, but the second one definitely had a tinge of “we know the ONLY way” to win
You can bet that the narrative of cheaters and the stuff you refer to will be as prevalent this weekend as it was last summer.
I don’t mind hyperbole. I enjoy the banter that comes from, for instance, us and the Hawks….
But those guys in Boston are fucking nuts. TMFF hit it on the head in a lot fewer words than I just did!

New England has surpassed NYC for most assholish fans I believe
they were funny enough when all their teams sucked ass, but then the winning started and they eventually became unbearable. Worse than Yankee fans, even worse than Cowboy fans, they truly are the top of the heap in douchery.
Ok this is OT to the hawks but I just saw this gif and it is so fantastic i just had to share

Question
Given that Sharp cares enough to play with a broken bone, can we dispel the rumour/meme that he doesn’t care enough to play centre?

While I agree with your point
The logic is flawed. He loves playing hockey, otherwise he wouldn’t do it. That’s not the same as playing a position that he may or may not dislike. He is a professional and does what is asked of him.
Is his bone actually broken though?
