Absolutely
Last year their worst tendency was to be inconsistent but this season is right now a full on train wreck. I honestly can’t believe the last time I saw the Hawks this bad for as long of a stretch.

It's stupid of them.
Between the whistles, they can be tough, in a good way. They grind away in a cycle, and they’re all pretty big so they do damage over 60 minutes.
After the whistle, they just chirp and chip and never get much done as far as intimidation.

Its a fluke if one doesnt go in.
Theyre not losing because of flukes, theyre losing because SJ has outworked and outhit them all game, which caused a 2-0 lead. You usually dont win when you fall behind 2-0. You can tie it 2-2 but one goal by them and theyre back on top. The problem is every Sharks player is working hard, hitting every chicago player they can, but the blackhawks dont want to hit anyone. The Hawks have been winning the board battles this entire period, by a huge margin. They are camped in front of the net, and are swarming on the back check. It’s not tough to take rouging penalties or blow your defensive assignment to deliver a “big hit”. it’s dumb and it loses games.
They did win battles
in the 2nd. None in the 1st.
And both periods, the actual hits, the ones that hurt, have been delivered by the Sharks.

I cant tell you what the statkeepers see. I can only tell you the Sharks hit much more and are a much grittier team than Chicago, that Chicago is one of the softest teams in the NHL. Most the Blackhawk fans I know agree with that, too, its just that tonight has been especially bad. I dont know why youre arguing such a widely accepted fact. The Blackhawks are faster and more skilled than almost anyone, but theyre also softer than almost anyone. Those are the pros and cons. Its not all bad but in terms of grit and hitting, its definitely bad.

Hawks completely outplayed the Sharks in the 2nd, controlling the puck for vast stretches. Sharks better have more hits when one considers they didn’t have the puck often.
