What follows is a pictorial history of goaltenders for the Chicago Blackhawks. It includes every netminder ever to play a game for the club, the first year they appeared for the club in the regular season, and a note if they are a Stanley Cup Champion goaltender (as a Hawk). If I was unable to find a picture of them in a Hawks jersey I included one for another team, if possible. Enjoy!
Hugh Lehman (1926):
Charlie Gardiner (1927, Stanley Cup Champion 1934. Only goalie to win the Stanley Cup as team captain.):
Joe Starke (Name engraved on 34 Cup as a spare, although he never played an NHL game as a goalie):
Wilf Cude (1931):
Lorne Chabot (1934):
Mike Karakas (1935, Stanley Cup Champion 1938):
Alfie Moore (Stanley Cup Champion 1938. Loaned by the New York Americans to start game 1 of the Cup Finals for the Hawks in place of the injured Karakas. This is the guy dragged out of a tavern after having drank ten beers who would start the game later that night. Was later ruled ineligible to play, although his 3-1 win was allowed to stand and his name was engraved on the cup, later left off during the 57 redesign. Never again played a game for the Blackhawks.)
Paul Goodman (1939, Stanley Cup Champion 1938. How is that possible? He was a backup called in to play game 2 of the 38 Cup Finals, but did not make his regular season debut until the '39 season):

Hope you enjoyed the walk down memory lane. Each year included is the beginning year for the season they made their regular season debut in, not necessarily the exact year they made their first appearance (and of course, there are some special notes about Cup Champs). I relied on the Goalies Archive for the season to season breakdown, and spot checked against the Hawks roster archive and it looked accurate. If you see any names misspelled or you think anyone was left off, let me know and I'll try and make an edit.
