I'll be the first to admit it, I only started following the Hawks last year. Blast me as a fair weather fan, fine, but I've fallen in love with hockey, and more specifically the Blackhawks. What I'm asking from y'all (I'm a former Chicagoan displaced to the South) now is somewhat of an advanced-beginner introduction to hockey. I know all of the Blackhawks players and their nicknames, I watch as many games as I can, I can explain almost all of the rules to my friends, but I lack the understanding of the nuances of the NHL. What do you love about hockey? Why do you love it? I don't know many players on other teams besides the big name stars, I don't know which teams to respect and which ones to pass judgement on (except for the teams that shall not be named in Detroit and St. Louis). I'm past asking for help understanding the basic parts of hockey, but help me to truly appreciate the NHL and all that it has to offer.
Thanks, and go Hawks!
