Last Week's Recap:
The biggest news from last Sunday was the disappearance of one of the nets at the rink. It was replaced by a crud outline of a goal painted (uncentered) on the back boards. We had a strong turnout with 13-14 players, two goalies (big stick tap to them for switching between guarding a net and a paint spot against the boards). We played 3 or 4 games adjusting teams as we went, we had about 7 new players show up which is fantastic! Hopefully next week, I will have a better recap of the games for all of you.
When do you idiots play?
SCH Inline Hockey Club plays every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. weather permitting!
Who is the SCH IHC?
Since 2011, people have been gathering around the city and burbs to playin an outdoor, inline hockey game. Why outdoor? Why inline? Because it makes the game free! We were tired of having no hockey option for those of us who don't want to spend a lot of $$$, especially when our skill is far from commensurate with how much it costs to play in a league. Instead, we created a game that is similar to a pick-up game of basketball: whoever shows up plays.
Now, we're on our third year of playing with a regular weekly game ranging from 10 to 15 players. We run goalies and have subs. All skill levels are welcome for this casual, cheap, and fun hockey experience!
Mike aka Billy Charlesboi organized the league in 2011 and is our beloved commissioner (just like Gary B.). I really hope that anyone who is interested gives it a try, way back in the beginning we played our first few weeks with no more than 6 guys now we regularly have between 10-15 players, it has been awesome watching this game grow, we haven't even recruited outside the blog and across state lines, convincing Emilie from the Wild blog to come out and play. It's a great way to shake off that extra winter blubber all the while hanging out and playing with people who LOVE the game. Email Mike, Lucas (LanceFister3) or myself if you need any more details or persuading.
Join us to make 2013 the best year of our Inline Hockey Club yet!
