Today is a pretty huge day for Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford. Not only is today his day with the Stanley Cup, in Montreal, but he also got himself a long term contract extension. Crow is now signed through the 2019-20 season, making him a member of the team's core for years to come.
No financial terms have been released yet, which has already caused people to speculate and freak out over the terms. Just relax until the terms have released. I highly doubt Stan Bowman is going to handcuff himself over a goalie. The Crawford and Bowman haters will blast the deal no matter what. These would have been the same people who would have ripped Stan if he had let Corey walk after this season. Crawford has worked his ass off and deserves the long term security, so I am very happy for him. Just like every deal only time will tell if it was the right move or not.
