Brandon Pirri Traded To Florida

Frederick Breedon

Stan Bowman has given Brandon Pirri his fresh start and change of scenery as he has traded him to his own personal scrap heap, the Florida Panthers.  The Panthers gave up their third round pick in this year's draft and their fifth round pick in 2016.  Pirri was never able stick in Chicago and will join Dylan Olsen and Jimmy Hayes as other former Blackhawks prospects who just couldn't make it with the big club.

This move should not come as a surprise, it has been painfully obvious Pirri was not going to be in the long term plans of this team.  Some might thing they could have got more from him, but apparently no other general manager was buying the Blackhawks calling Pirri a "top prospect."  Is Bowman stockpiling picks to make a bigger move by Wednesday's trade deadline? Probably not, but you never know.  The sight of Stan Bowman with extra draft picks is pretty sexy, if nothing bigger is in the works.
