Recap: Dallas vs. Los Angeles

Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Kyle Quincey's wrister early in the second proved to be the game-winner, and the Los Angeles Kings swept the home-and- home series with the Dallas Stars with a 3-2 victory Thursday night.

The Kings defeated the Stars in Los Angeles on Tuesday by a 3-2 margin in a shootout.

Michal Handzus and Jarret Stoll scored the other goals for the Kings, who have won four straight. Alexander Frolov posted two helpers, and Erik Ersberg made 24 saves to earn the victory.

Brad Richards and Mike Ribiero tallied for the Stars, who have lost five of six. Richards also notched an assist, and Marty Turco stopped 26-of-29 shots in taking the loss.

Los Angeles got on the board midway through the first. With Sean Avery off for tripping, Peter Harrold took a slap shot from the point. Handzus was able to tip the puck out of midair and through the legs of Turco for the goal.

The Kings made it 2-0 with just under seven minutes remaining in the opening frame. Stoll used helpers from Frolov and Sean O'Donnell at 13:11 for his sixth tally of the season.

Dallas took advantage of a 5-on-3 late in the first. With Quincey and Denis Gauthier off for interference, Richards one-timed a slap shot from the point. The puck tipped off O'Donnell's stick and through Ersberg's legs with just 22 seconds until intermission.

Quincey restored the Kings' two-goal advantage early in the second, as his wrist shot from the point at 3:24 managed to get past Turco.

The Stars made it a one-goal game again on the power play. Ribiero was serving as a screen in front of Ersberg, and he was able to tip Richards' shot past the goaltender for the score at 14:43.

The Kings managed to stay out of the penalty box in the third, and Ersberg was able to turn away all nine shots he faced in the scoreless period to hold on for the victory. The Stars pulled Turco in the final minute but didn't get any good chances to score.

The Kings have won four of the last five meetings between the clubs...Dallas' Brenden Morrow notched his 10th assist of the season...Each team had two power play goals.
