Canucks' Bieksa out 2-to-4 weeks

Sports Network | November 14, 2008

Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - Vancouver Canucks defensemen Kevin Bieksa will miss 2-to-4 weeks with a fracture of the metatarsal bone in his left foot.

Bieksa was injured while blocking a shot in a November 4 contest against Nashville, but initial x-rays did not detect the hairline fracture.

The 27-year-old, Grimsby, Ontario native has three goals and 11 points and is a plus-five through the Canucks' first 13 games this season. In 167 career games, Bieksa has collected 17 goals and 71 assists over four seasons in Vancouver.

In a corresponding move, Vancouver recalled defenseman Lawrence Nycholat from Manitoba of the American Hockey League.
