Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Jonas Hiller made 29 saves to notch his first career shutout, as the Anaheim Ducks posted a 2-0 win over the Los Angeles Kings.
Corey Perry and Bret Hedican tallied for Anaheim, which snapped a three-game losing streak. The Ducks have won four of the past five meetings between the clubs, which includes another shutout -- 1-0, in overtime -- just 12 days prior to Sunday's contest.
Erik Ersberg made 24 saves in a losing effort for the Kings, who have lost two in a row after a four-game win streak. Los Angeles has been shut out four times this season.
Hiller made 14 saves in the scoreless first period, while Ersberg stopped six shots.
At the 11:36 mark of the second frame, Perry got Anaheim on the board, and the 1-0 lead lasted deep into the third period. Hedican gave the Ducks some breathing room with 4:20 left in the contest. The puck rolled unevenly across the ice to Hedican at the left point, and he ripped a slapshot past Ersberg that gave Anaheim the two-goal lead that held up until the game's end.
Hedican's goal was his first of the season...Kent Huskins, who assisted on Perry's goal, has points in 11 of the past 12 games...Anaheim is next in action on Wednesday when the team hosts Washington...The Capitals then travel for a road date on Thursday against the Kings.
