Patrick Kane is your NHL Rookie Of The Month

Congrats to Pat:

Chicago Blackhawks right wing Patrick Kane, whose 16 points (five goals, 11 assists) were the most by an NHL rookie in October since 1992-93, has been named the League’s Rookie of the Month.

Kane edged Blackhawks linemate Jonathan Toews (5-5–10 in 10 games), Edmonton Oilers forwards Andrew Cogliano (3-5–8 in 13 games) and Sam Gagner (1-6–7 in 12 games), and Minnesota Wild goaltender Josh Harding (2-2-1, 2.36 goals-against-average and .925 save percentage) for the award.

He definitely deserved to win it, even with some other worthy candidates in the league so far. It’s hard to believe that an 18 year old rookie has looked so poised and confident with the puck and is already putting up fantastic offensive numbers. He has certainly played as well as could have possibly been expected from a young kid in the NHL.

Also, the Hawks are going to be holding a press conference on Monday at 1:30 PM CT to announce which home games Comcast Sports Net is going to televise this season. It should be interesting to see which games from the United Center we will get to see on the tube this year.
