I really wish these games were on TV. I know it's only pre-season and the games ultimately don't count for much, but I am fairly psyched for hockey at the moment and the fact that I can't see the Hawks tonight (or even listen to them for that matter) is kind of disappointing. They're playing a team who has become kind of a division rival and it would at least be something interesting to watch. Oh well.
In case you missed it, the Hawks are now Khabibulin-less, as he was placed on waivers today and likely will be headed elsewhere very soon. If I had to guess, I would say that with Cristobal Huet being the starter in goal this year, Antti Niemi will be the backup after a pretty strong showing against Dallas last night.
The Blackhawks beat Columbus 4-3 six days ago in Chicago to open up the pre-season. Tonight the Hawks look to win their fourth straight game by a score of 4-3. I don't know if that's something they're actually shooting for, but hey, it's something.
The Hawks lineup is listed on the official site, though the combinations aren't up yet. It looks more like a Rockford IceHogs lineup, as most of your regulars won't be playing, while Columbus is supposedly going to be playing their normal regular season lineup in this one.
