Don't Forget: Your SPG Picks
I did not realize this game started at 1:00 until about 15 minutes ago, so this is going to be a really quick preview. Thankfully we just saw the Blue Jackets the other night so we should know all there is to know about this team. In case you need a reminder though, if they play their game, it'll be a pretty boring game.
With Mathieu (learn to spell douchebag) Garon taking the loss on Thursday, I'm guessing it's even more likely that we'll see Steve Mason in the net this afternoon. I went over Mason's disappointing season in the last preview but he does have a solid .911 SV% against Chicago for his career, as short as it may be. Though his .885 SV% in the last game against the Hawks doesn't look great.
According to Light The Lamp, the Jackets will be switching some things up. Rick Nash will be moving to the other side of the ice and trying things out with Antoine Vermette at the dot and R.J. Umberger on the other side. Nash is in a pretty horrible slump at the moment, he hasn't found the back of the net since Christmas. We'll see if changing things up does anything for him.
And here is your obligatory "the Blackhawks will be looking to get this road trip off on the right front" comment - because it's true. And yes, this trip is bizonkers. According to On The Forecheck's Super Schedules, the Blackhawks will be traveling 7,776 miles before they get back to Chicago, ouch. We'll be really late for the wrap though because I have to work, Sam's computer is broken or something, and someone, for some reason, trusted McClure enough to include him in a wedding party. So enjoy your Saturday all.
Lets Go Hawks
