Not exactly how we wanted that weekend to go, from the terrible Halloween weather in Chicago to the subpar performances on the ice, but hopefully a new week can bring some new fortunes. Here's your news for Monday morning:

**Boston announced a multi-year contract extension for head coach Claude Julien (Bruins)

**Edmonton will be without Taylor Hall for two-to-four weeks after the winger suffered an MCL sprain on Saturday night (Oilers)

**The Rangers expect Ryan McDonagh to be out three-to-four weeks with a separated shoulder. (Pro Hockey Talk)

**New York also waived Ryan Malone on Sunday, and there's word he may not report to the AHL if he clears. (TSN)
