The second period was not as fun for us Blackhawks fans. After dominating the first period and getting out to a 3-1 lead on 20 shots, the Blackhawks were able to get just 6 shots on Sharks goalie Antti Niemi in the second period. Andrew Shaw took a double-minor penalty for high sticking Joe Thornton, and Joe Pavelski capitalized in the first half, scoring his 2nd goal of the night to cut the 'Hawks lead down to a score of 3-2.
It was another rough second period, which has definitely been a theme for the Blackhawks this season. Now it's time for them to get it together and finish strong in the third.
Here's you third and final game thread for the night.
Let's get 2 points here. Go Blackhawks!
