The Blackhawks got off to a bit of a slow start in this one, allowing the Avalanche to open the scoring, but have stuck with it and find themselves in a 2-2 tie at the end of the first period. A couple of ugly powerplays were turned in by the 'Hawks in that first frame, so that'll need to be an area of improvement. However, after the second one, the period was all 'Hawks, so hopefully that continues here in the second.
