I am going a different route with today's Game Day Numbers. I went back and looked at every single playoff series since 1980 through the second round of this year's postseason to get the numbers on all the seven game series that started 3-1.
-Since the start of the 1980 playoffs, 202 series have seen a team jump out to a 3-1 series lead.
- 107 (53%) have ended in five games,
- 53 (26%) have ended in six games
- 42 (21%) have gone to seven games.
- Out of those 42 series, the team who trailed 3-1 won 24 (58%) of those Game 7's.
So, let's stay out of box, find a way to clog the shooting lanes and get some traffic in front of Quick and get this series back to LA.
