Blackhawks week ahead: Stanley Cup Final rematch

The Blackhawks are 3-3 after Week 2 of the season. Here's a look at upcoming week for the Blackhawks.

The Chicago Blackhawks host the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday in a Stanley Cup Final rematch at the United Center. It's one of just two Hawks games this week.

Let's take a look at the upcoming week in Blackhawks' hockey:

Monday - One is the loneliest number

The Hawks are idle along with 27 other NHL teams. The San Jose Sharks visiting the New York Rangers is the only NHL game on the schedule, and it can be watched on the NHL Network at 6 p.m.

Tuesday - Scout thy enemy

Both of the Hawks' opponents this week -- Panthers and Lightning -- are in action. The Panthers visit the Penguins, while the Lightning are in Nashville. Former Blackhawk Patrick Sharp visits his old stomping grounds in Philadelphia with the Stars in a game shown nationally on NBCSN.

Central Division: Dallas at Philadelphia, St. Louis at Montreal and Tampa Bay at Nashville

Wednesday - Rookie trio

There are four games on the schedule, highlighted by the Flyers visiting the Bruins for NBCSN's "Rivalry Night." Three of the league's top rookies will be in action as Jack Eichel and the Sabres host the Maple Leafs, and Dylan Larkin and the Red Wings visit Connor McDavid and the Oilers.

IceHogs: Rockford (1-3) is back on the ice after two days off as they host the Iowa Wild at 7 p.m.

Central Division: Carolina at Colorado

Thursday - Panthers at Blackhawks at 7:30 p.m. CT (CSN)

Blackhawks hockey is back! After four off days the Hawks return to the United Center to play the Florida Panthers. Former Blackhawks Brian Campbell, Dave Bolland and Brandon Pirri join Jonathan Huberdeau, Aaron Ekblad and future Hall of Famer Jaromir Jagr as the top players from Sunrise, Fla.

Central Division action: Dallas at Pittsburgh, Anaheim at Nashville, Columbus at Minnesota

Friday - Striking scout day

The Lightning, who the Hawks play Saturday, visit the Jets. Another game worth watching should be the Canadiens at Sabres. Jack Eichel on a breakaway against Carey Price? Sign me up. The Bruins visit the Islanders in the only nationally televised game on NHL Network.

IceHogs: Rockford hosts the Chicago Wolves (Blues) at 7 p.m.

Steel: Chicago's USHL team visits the Madison Capitols at 7:05 p.m.

Central Division action: Tampa Bay at Winnipeg

Saturday - Lightning at Blackhawks at 7:30 p.m. (WGN)

The Hawks host the Lightning in a Stanley Cup Final rematch at United Center. Chicago is on a three-game winning streak against the Lightning, including two at home.

IceHogs: Rockford hits the road as they travel to play the Milwaukee Admirals (Predators) at 7 p.m.

Steel: Chicago continues its trek through Badger land with a game against the Green Bay Gamblers at 7:05 p.m.

Central Division: Anaheim at Minnesota, N.Y. Islanders at St. Louis, Pittsburgh at Nashville, Florida at Dallas, Columbus at Colorado

Sunday - Three games

The Wild visit the Jets in the only Central Division clash this week. The Flames visit the Rangers, which can be seen on NHL Network and the Oilers host the Kings.

Steel: Chicago completes its weekend with a game in Madison at 4:05 p.m.

Central Division: Minnesota at Winnipeg
