The Chicago Blackhawks recalled forward Ryan Hartman from the Rockford IceHogs of the American League, the team announced Friday.

Hartman, 21, has three goals and two assists in eight regular-season games this season for Rockford. The 2013 first-round draft pick skated in five games for Chicago last season but did not register a point. He recorded 13 goals and 24 assists in 69 games with the IceHogs last season. The West Dundee, Ill. native was the Blackhawks' first-round pick in the 2013 draft.

Hartman is the third Blackhawks prospect to be recall this week. Vincent Hinostroza was the first, he failed to record a point in just 35 minutes of ice time over four games. The Notre Dame product was reassigned to Rockford on Tuesday to make room for Tanner Kero, who centered the third line in Thursday's 3-1 loss to Winnipeg. Kero did not record a point in the game. He has six goals and 10 points with Rockford this season.

The Blackhawks return to action Friday against the Minnesota Wild at the Xcel Energy Center.
