Blackhawks' Trevor Daley day to day after collision

Head coach Joel Quenneville says the defenseman did not lose consciousness.

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Trevor Daley appears to have avoided a major injury after a collision with Jets forward Chris Thorburn in Sunday's game.

Daley fell forward when his head collided with Thorburn's right knee midway through the second period of the Hawks' 3-1 victory.

Daley was motionless on the ice and a stretcher was brought out. He was able to get to his feet and skated off the ice with assistance from the Hawks' medical staff.

Head coach Joel Quenneville told reporters Daley won't play Tuesday against the Predators, but is considered day-to-day going forward. Quenneville added Daley did not lose consciousness.

Daley has five assists in 27 games in his first session with Chicago.

David Rundblad will likely play in his spot for his first game since Oct. 29. The 25-year-old Swedish defenseman is scoreless with eight shots in five games this season.
