Blackhawks prospect watch: Indy Fuel's 7-game streak snapped

IceHogs split 2 games against the Wolves

Here is the weekly look at how some of the Chicago Blackhawks' prospects are performing around the globe, starting with the minor league affiliates.

Rockford

The IceHogs (26-14-4-2) split two games on a back-to-back against the Chicago Wolves (Blues) over the weekend. Jamie Wise scored the game-winner in overtime for Friday's 3-2 win then Scott Darling allowed four goals the next night on the road for a 4-1 loss.

Mark McNeill tallied a goal and an assist, while Viktor Svedberg also scored Friday. Garret Ross and Peter Regin assisted McNeill's goal, and Pierre Labrie and Michael Leighton registered helpers on Svedberg's score. Leighton stopped 28 of 30 shots for the win.

Drew LeBlanc scored the lone goal, unassisted, in the second period in Saturday's loss. Darling stopped 23 of 26 shots in the loss.

Indy

The Fuel (15-22-4-3) went 2-1 this week. Indy started the week with a 3-2 overtime win over the Gwinnett Gladiators to extend their win streak to seven games before falling to the Reading Royals 3-2 on Friday. The next night they rebounded with a 3-0 shutout behind Mac Carruth's 41 saves over the Elmira Jackals.

Carruth is on a seven-game winning streak and 8-9-2-2 with a 2.53 goals-against average and .913 save percentage in 22 games.

Pete Massar scored the game-winner against Gwinnett off a feed from Nicklas Lindberg. Garett Bembridge tallied a goal and an assist, and Vincent Arseneau also scored that night. Carruth stopped 31 of 33 shots he faced.

Bembridge tallied a goal against Elmira and an assist against Reading for a four-point week while Arseneau also netted a goal against Reading and contributed an assisted against Elmira for a three-point week. Nick Jones had an assist each game this week, and Kyle Stroh tallied a goal and assist as well. Kirill Gotovets and Justin Holl potted the late goals against Elmira.

Shane Owen made 23 saves in the loss to Reading.

NCAA, USHL, and others

Nick Schmaltz (F), North Dakota (NCAA) - Schmaltz had an assist in each game against Omaha this weekend. The freshman has 20 points (3G, 17A) in 23 games.

Luke Johnson (F), North Dakota (NCAA) - Johnson scored a goal and tallied an assit over two games against Omaha this weekend. The sophomore has 14 points this season.

Nick Mattson (D), North Dakota (NCAA) - Mattson notched an assist in each game against Omaha.

Chris Calnan (F), Boston College (NCAA) - Calnan was scoreless this weekend. He has 16 points (11G, 5A) in 25 games.

Tyler Motte (F), Michigan (NCAA) - Motte did not record a point against Michigan State. He has 23 points (7G, 16A) in 21 games this season.

John Hayden (F), Yale (NCAA) - Hayden was blanked against Princeton. He has 14 points (4G, 9A) in 18 games.

Anthony Louis (F), Miami (NCAA) - Louis assisted the opening goal, then netted the second tally on a power play; he also scored on Miami's first shootout attempt in a win over Western Michigan. He ranks second on the team with 14 assists and fourth with 19 points in 22 games.

Michael Paliotta (D), Vermont (NCAA) - Paliotta's Catamounts also did not play this weekend. He has 16 assists and 23 points in 25 games this season.

Vince Hinostroza (F), Notre Dame (NCAA) - Hinostroza had a goal and three assists over two games against New Hampshire this weekend. He leads the Irish with 21 assists and has 25 points in 28 games.

Luc Snuggerud (D), Nebraska-Omaha (NCAA) - Snuggerud assisted on the game-winner on an overtime power play. The fifth-round selection in the 2014 draft has 13 points (2G, 11A) in 26 games.

Dyaln Sikura (F), Northeastern (NCAA) - The sixth-round selection in the 2014 draft has 3 points (1G, 2A) in 15 games.

Sam Jardine (D), Ohio State (NCAA) - The sixth-round selection in the 2011 draft has 13 points (1G, 12A) in 36 games.

Matt Tomkins (G), Ohio State (NCAA) - The seventh-round selection in the 2012 draft is 6-7 with a 2.78 goals-against average in 17 games.

Fredrik Olofsson (F), Chicago Steel (USHL) - Olofsson had four assists, including three against Madison on Friday. He has 36 points (17G, 19A) in 34 games.

Matheson Iacopelli (F), Muskegon Lumberjacks (USHL) - Iacopelli picked up a goal and an assist against Dubuque this weekend. He has 21 points (15G, 6A) this season.

Andres Nilsson (G), AK Bars Kazan (KHL) - Nilsson has a 1.75 GAA and .936 save percentage in 32 games.

Ivan Nalimov (G), Admiral Vladivostok (KHL) - Nalimov has a 2.92 GAA and .892 save percentage in 26 games.

Carl Dahlstrom (D), Linkoping (SHL) - Dahlstrom has two goals and two assists in 44 games this season.

Robin Press (D), Södertälje (Allsvenskan) - Press tallied a goal and assist in a 4-3 loss to HC Vita Hasten. He leads the team with 12 goals and 29 points has 29 points in 44 games.
