Morning Bag Skate: Bring on the dads

Our daily look at Blackhawks news and the happenings around the world of hockey.

Dennis Wierzbicki-USA TODAY Sports

It's an off day for the Chicago Blackhawks as they head to San Jose to face the Sharks on Saturday. Lots of action on the college side of things with the Bruins and Flyers adding guys, though, so you can check out SBN College Hockey to keep up with that.  Here's the latest news as we await the weekend:

**It's that time of year: the dads road trip (Chicago Sun-Times)

**Kevin Klein will miss 3-4 weeks for the Rangers with an upper body after taking an Alex Ovechkin shot (Blueshirts United)

**Johnny Boychuk has agreed to a seven-year, $42 million contract with the Islanders. That's an annual cap hit of $6 million for the defenseman. (Islanders)

**A few AHL and OHL teams have announced relocations for next season. (PHT)

**Head-first diving goal alert. (SB Nation)

**A few tough losses for Tampa Bay. Defenseman Braydon Coburn will be out 4-6 weeks with a lower body injury, and forward Ondrej Palat will miss 2-3 weeks with an injury in the same area. To keep piling on, Cedric Paquette is also sidelined for a bit as well. So it was a tough day beyond the loss to Boston. (PHT)

**The Jets lost 4-2 to the Panthers on Thursday. This Adam Pardy own goal didn't help. (SB Nation)

**I suppose this is one kind of due diligence. (Puck Daddy)

**Evgeni Malkin reached 700 career points Thursday. (PHT)
