Rockford is the fourth seed and has home-ice advantage, meaning the final three games of the best-of-five series format could be played in Rockford at the BMO Harris Bank Center.
Rockford will play Games 1 and 2 in Cedar Park, Texas, then return to home for Game 3, which will be April 29. Games 4 and 5, if necessary, are scheduled for May 1 and May 2, respectively.
The IceHogs finished 46-23-5-2 and face the defending Calder Cup champion Stars (40-22-13-1). Rockford head coach Ted Dent has led the team to an AHL era record for the franchise, and sit two shy of a franchise best 48, which was set in the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons.
The IceHogs and Stars have met four times this season, and the IceHogs have won all four meetings: 3-2 in Rockford on Nov. 16, 4-3 in overtime and 6-3 on Feb. 27 and 28 in Texas and 4-3 in Rockford on March 22.
All games will be available on 23.2 antenna TV or online with AHL Live at ahllive.com. The coverage will start 30 minutes prior to puck drop with the IceHogs Warm Up Show.
