Kirill Gotovets has agreed to an American Hockey League contract with the Chicago Blackhawks' AHL affiliate Rockford IceHogs for the 2015-16 season, the team announced Friday.

Gotovets, 23, recorded a goal and an assist in 12 regular-season games with the IceHogs this season. The defenseman also skated in eight Calder Cup playoff games, including Game 1 of the Western Conference quarterfinals when he scored the game-winner.

Gotovets was called up during the season from the Hawks' East Coast Hockey League affiliate Indy Fuel. He tallied seven goals and six assists for 13 points in 47 appearances for the Fuel in their inaugural season.

The Cornell product is the third signee for the IceHogs this month with forwards Dane Walters and Chris DeSousa also agreeing to AHL contracts. Walters, 26, registered one goal and five assists in 19 games, while DeSousa, 24, logged seven goals and nine assists for 16 points in his rookie season with the Fuel.
