The 2015 NHL Draft is upon us with the first round set to begin Friday night in Sunrise, Fla. Many of the game's top prospects, including Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel, will be selected, setting the stage for the next generation of stars to hit the ice.
The Chicago Blackhawks don't have any first-round picks at the moment but should have a busy weekend ahead of them regardless. Trade talk surrounding Patrick Sharp, Bryan Bickell and others will hit a fever pitch as GM Stan Bowman pushes to add more picks, and even before any deals, Chicago still has seven selections.
With teams becoming smarter and smarter about cap management and player development, taking advantage of the draft is becoming more important every year. The Hawks have hit on a lot of big picks in the past, the latest being Teuvo Teravainen at No. 18 in the 2011 draft, and will look to do the same this year.
Here's the full order for the first round on Friday, as well as a list of the Blackhawks' picks, which are all set for Rounds 2-7 on Saturday.
