The Chicago Blackhawks reassigned forward Brandon Mashinter and defenseman Cameron Schilling to AHL Rockford, and released forward Daniel Paille, the team announced Monday.

Mashinter, 27, tallied 32 points (17 goals, 15 assists) in 69 regular-season for Rockford last season. The 26-year-old Schilling was acquired by the Blackhawks in July on a two-year deal. He recorded 18 points (3G, 15A) in 63 regular-season games with the Washington Capitals' AHL affiliate Hershey. He also appeared in four games with the Capitals.

Paille, 31, spent the past five-plus seasons as a member of the Boston Bruins. The forward has cracked double-digit goals just once during that span, and last reached 20 points during the 2009-10 season. He had 13 points (6G, 7A) in 71 games with Boston last season.

The Hawks also released forward Tomas Kopecky and defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky from training camp Monday. Both players were on tryout contracts.

The Hawks' active roster now includes 18 forwards, 10 defenseman and three goaltenders. They will travel to St. Louis to take on the Blues on Thursday in preseason action.
