World Juniors: Blackhawks prospect Gustav Forsling scores for Sweden vs. Denmark

Chicago Blackhawks prospect Gustav Forsling scored a power play goal in the first period in Sweden’s 5-0 win over Denmark at the 2016 World Junior Championship in Helsinki, Finland.

It’s Forsling’s first goal of the tournament and fourth overall, he scored three in eight games during the 2015 tournament.

Forsling, 19, has tallied two goals and 10 assists in 27 games this season for Linkoping HC. It is the defenseman’s second season with the senior team. The Blackhawks acquired him last January in a trade with the Vancouver Canucks.

The 2016 WJC will be held from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5, 2016.

Forsling isn’t the only Hawks prospect in the tournament. The Swedes beat Team USA and Nick Schmaltz, the Hawks’ 2014 first-round pick, 1-0, on Monday. Joni Tuulola (Finland) and Radovan Bondra (Slovakia) are also in the tournament. Forsling is the only prospect to have recorded a point in the tournament so far.
