Chicago Blackhawks rookie Artemi Panarin recorded his first NHL career hat trick against the New York Rangers on Wednesday at Madison Square Garden. Panarin, a Calder Trophy favorite, scored one goal in the second period and added two more in the third, including the game-winner shown in the video above.
The 24-year-old Russian winger also became the first rookie this season to score 20 goals, and the first Chicago rookie to do so since Kris Versteeg. Panarin recorded his first tally midway in the second, scoring a power-play goal to give the Blackhawks a 2-0 lead at the time. The second one completed the comeback after Chicago had fallen behind.
