The Hawks were idle.

The Los Angeles Kings became the first Western Conference team to clinch a playoff spot with a 2-1 win over the Boston Bruins. Dallas, St. Louis and Minnesota all won their games. Minnesota's victory prevented the Stars from clinching a playoff spot.

The Blackhawks host Minnesota, who sit one point out of the second wild-card spot. Colorado claims that wild card spot and visit Edmonton.
