Watch: Blackhawks' prospect Tyler Motte scores game-winner in overtime for Michigan to advance

Chicago's 2013 fourth-round pick is making some noise in the NCAA Tournament.

Chicago Blackhawks prospect Tyler Motte scored in overtime to give Michigan a 3-2 win over Notre Dame on Friday in the Midwest Regional semifinal at U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Motte received a feed from fellow top-10 Hobey Baker finalist JT Compher, of Northbrook, Ill., to send the Wolverines to the Midwest Regional Final against North Dakota and fellow Hawks prospects Luke Johnson and Nick Schmaltz. Chicago prospect Dennis Gilbert did not score a point in the loss for Notre Dame.

North Dakota won their opening game in convincing fashion with a 6-2 win over Northeastern. Johnson scored a goal and Schmaltz recorded two assists. Hawks prospect Dylan Sikura did not record a point for Northeastern.

There are seven total Chicago prospects in the 2016 NCAA Tournament. The other two prospects are Chris Calnan of Boston College and John Hayden of Yale. Calnan and the Eagles will play Harvard in the Northeast Regional, while Hayden and the Bulldogs draw UMass-Lowell.
