Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand scored to give the Boston Bruins a 2-1 lead over the Chicago Blackhawks after the first period Thursday at TD Garden.
Bergeron scored 1 minute, 18 seconds in to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead. Marchand gave the Bruins the lead with a snipe with 21.3 seconds remaining in the opening period.
Jonathan Toews scored the lone Chicago goal off a feed from Andrew Ladd.
