Fleischmann was acquired in a trade along with line mate Dale Weise from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Phillip Danault and a 2018 second-round pick last Friday. Fleischmann, 31, has 10 goals and 10 assists in 57 games this season. He's traditionally played left wing, while Weise has been a right wing.
Weise played his first game with Chicago against Boston, but started on the fourth line. He is expected to move up to the third line with Fleischmann and Teuvo Teravainen before too long. The 27-year-old winger has 14 goals and 12 assists in 56 games with Montreal this season.
Fleischmann joins Andrew Ladd as players acquired near the trade deadline to find the back of the net.
