Andrew Ladd will play in Game 1 of the Chicago Blackhawks' playoff series against the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday.

The winger's status was in question earlier in the day as his wife, Brandy, went into labor with their third child. She has not given birth, yet. The baby isn't due until May 23.

Ladd has scored eight goals with four assists since being acquired near the trade deadline from Winnipeg. He has eight goals and 15 points in 53 playoff appearances with Chicago.

Winger Richard Panik skated on the top line during Wednesday's morning skate, while Ladd was in Chicago. He has 30 minutes of playoff experience in two games for Tampa Bay in 2014.

The Hawks are already without defenseman Keith, who is serving the final game of his six-game suspension.
