Blackhawks prospects Vincent Hinostroza and Tyler Motte look to advance to the gold-medal game.

Chicago Blackhawks prospects Vincent Hinostroza and Tyler Motte will look to make history with the United States on Saturday when they play for a berth in the gold-medal game at the World Championships against rival Canada.

The U.S. have not made the gold-medal game since 1960, which is also the last time they won the tournament. Meanwhile, Canada is looking to defend its title.

Both Hinostroza and Motte have contributed to the U.S. run in the tournament.

Hinostroza has one goal and two assists in eight games, including the game-winner against Hungary in Group B play. Motte, who signed a three-year entry-level deal last month after foregoing his senior season at Michigan, two assists in eight appearances.

The U.S. upset Group A winner Czech Republic, 2-1, in the quarterfinals while Canada bounced back with a 6-0 win over Sweden. The winner of Canada vs. U.S. will draw Finland, who defeated Russia in the other semifinal.

Blackhawks prospect Ville Pokka has two assists in nine games for Finland. Artemi Panarin finished the tournament with 12 points (five goals and seven assists), including two game-winning goals in nine contests.
