With the Blackhawks bowing out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs in the first round for the first time since 2012, we have a much longer offseason to fill with content and fun than normal. One of the ways we have decided to that is to do this 30 day "challenge" in which we will present a topic for you, the SCH commenters and community, to answer. Day 25: Most underrated player in the NHL?

Adam: Wow this is a hard question. There are so many players that definitely don't get enough credit for their team contributions. On the Hawks I'd have to say it's Marcus Kruger, because he is hardly ever recognized for how good he is defensively and how much he means to the Hawks. In terms of the NHL, I think my pick has to be Brendan Gallagher of the Montreal Canadiens. He does just about everything well, and when he's out of the Habs lineup they miss him so much. He's also on one of the best contracts in the NHL.
