It’s trade season in the NHL, and the Chicago Blackhawks are buyers once again with one of the top records in the Western Conference. A year ago, they were among the league’s most active teams in midseason deals, acquiring several veterans for a playoff run that never materialized.
Now GM Stan Bowman is singing a somewhat different tune, telling reporters repeatedly over the past few weeks that he doesn’t expect a trade. Not everyone believes him, and it could just be posturing before the March 1 trade deadline, but it sounds like the Blackhawks aren’t being quite as aggressive this season.
That won’t stop the flow of trade rumors involving the team, though, because they’re still making calls and fans still love gobbling up the latest whispers. With that in mind, here’s a running list of every important trade rumor involving the Blackhawks over the past several weeks, and we’ll be updating this right up until the trade deadline next week.
