Tomas Jurco will make his Chicago Blackhawks debut when Chicago goes for its fourth straight win and the season series against the St. Louis Blues on Sunday at United Center.

Chicago acquired the 24-year-old winger in a trade Friday with Detroit in exchange for a third-round pick. Jurco failed to record a point in 16 games with the Red Wings this season. The 2011 second-round pick has scored 33 goals and 38 assists in 113 career AHL games. He’ll skate at left wing on the third line alongside Marcus Kruger and Marian Hossa.

Scott Darling will start in net in place of Corey Crawford, who is sick. Coach Joel Quenneville did not say what Crawford’s illness is, but did clear up that Crawford does not have the Mumps, which six Vancouver players have shown symptoms of. Lars Johansson will serve as Darling’s backup.

The Hawks will be without defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson, who left Thursday’s win over Arizona with an upper-body injury and did not return. Hjalmarsson is listed as day-to-day.

The Hawks rolled past Arizona on Thursday thanks to Patrick Kane’s third career regular-season hat trick. It was the second straight game a Hawks player scored a hat trick as Jonathan Toews lit the lamp three times Tuesday at Minnesota. Kane leads the Hawks with 23 goals this season and his 63 points (23 goals, 40 assists) are tied for fourth in the league. Toews’ two assists against Arizona extended his point streak to five games.

The season series for the Hawks and Blues is tied at 2-2 after St. Louis won the Winter Classic on Jan. 2 at Busch Stadium. The Blues have since fired coach Ken Hitchcock and, appointed assistant Mike Yeo to the head post. Under Yeo’s leadership, the Blues have gone 7-3-0 with two of those losses coming before its bye week which they come out of against the Hawks.

Vladimir Tarasenko leads the Blues in points, goals and game-winning goals. He also shares the team lead in power-play goals (seven) and is second in assists. He scored twice in the Winter Classic against the Hawks.
