The Chicago Blackhawks and forward Patrick Kane are finding the back of the net with ease. Chicago has scored three hat tricks, including two by Kane, in its last four games.
It’s the first time Chicago has scored three hat tricks in four games since they scored three straight from Dec. 5-8, 1991: Noonan (3), Jeremy Roenick (4) and Steve Larmer (3), according to CSN Chicago’s Christopher Kamka.
Jonathan Toews started the streak with a five-point effort Feb. 21 at first-place Minnesota. Kane followed the next game with a three-goal outing Feb. 23 vs. Arizona at home. Kane and Toews each scored a goal in the Hawks’ 4-2 win Feb. 26 against St. Louis before the reigning Hart Trophy-winner recorded his second hat trick in a three-game span Wednesday against Pittsburgh.
Kane is the first Chicago player to score two hat tricks in three games since Brian Noonan scored two in consecutive games Dec. 27-29, 1991, Kamka notes.
