It’s been two years since the Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup, and they’re trying to figure out how to do it again. That means another summer of moves to prepare for the 2017-18 season, which will also see the addition of the Vegas Golden Knights to the NHL.
The Blackhawks have already made some minor moves this summer, including coaching changes, re-signing Richard Panik, and trading Scott Darling, but the real action is yet to come. There’s been word that GM Stan Bowman could be unusually active this year, and while whispers don’t guarantee it plays out that way, a first-round sweep would be a logical impetus to shake it up.
Big names could be in play this summer, and that adds intrigue to what’s always an interesting time of the year.
