Morning Bag Skate: Leon Draisaitl-Connor McDavid to match Patrick Kane-Jonathan Toews’ salary cap total

Chicago Blackhawks stars Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews are no longer the single highest paid duo in the NHL.

The Edmonton Oilers signed Leon Draisaitl to an eight-year, $68 million deal Wednesday. The deal paired with Connor McDavid’s eight-year, $100 million extension equals Kane and Toews’ $21 million salary-cap hit for next season.
