NHL: Preseason-Detroit Red Wings at Chicago Blackhawks Dennis Wierzbicki-USA TODAY Sports

Brandon Saad scored a hat trick and Alex DeBrincat tallied his first NHL goal to lead the Chicago Blackhawks to a 6-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday in their preseason home opener at the United Center.

Nick Schmaltz also had two assists, and Ryan Hartman and Brent Seabrook also scored for Chicago, who improved to 2-0 in the preseason.
