2018 NHL draft: How to watch the first round on TV, online

For the first time in seven years the Chicago Blackhawks will have two first-round draft picks. The Blackhawks have Nos. 8 and 27 overall picks Friday at American Airlines Center in Dallas.

The draft will be split into two days with the first round happening at 6:30 p.m. Friday and the second through seventh rounds starting at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The Buffalo Sabres won the NHL draft lottery and are predicted to select Swedish defenseman Rasmus Dahlin with the top overall pick. In SB Nation’s NHL mock draft, the Sabres picked Dahlin and the Carolina Hurricanes followed with winger Andrei Svechnikov from Barrie of the Ontario Hockey League at No. 2.

The Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators and Arizona Coyotes round out the top five.

In SBN’s mock draft, Second City Hockey has the Hawks selecting winger Oliver Wahlstrom at No. 8 and defenseman Calen Addison at No. 27. Last year, Chicago traded down and picked defenseman Henri Jokiharju at No. 29 overall.

The Hawks have eight picks in this year’s draft, including two in the first and third rounds.
