2018 NHL draft: How to watch Rounds 2-7 on TV, online
Chicago has six picks entering the second day.
The Chicago Blackhawks enter the second day of the NHL draft in some unfamiliar territory.
For the first time since 2011, the Hawks have already made two picks before the second round. Chicago selected right-handed Swedish defenseman Adam Boqvist and left-handed Canadian defenseman Nicolas Beaudin with the Nos. 8 and 27 picks, respectively. It’s the second straight year the Hawks have used their top two picks on blue liners.
The Hawks enter the second day of the draft with eight picks, but not one in the second round. Chicago general manager Stan Bowman said he’ll be trying to make a trade to acquire a second-round pick.
The Hawks are slated to pick at Nos. 69 and 87 in third round, No. 120 in the fourth, No. 142 in the fifth, No. 162 in the sixth and No. 193 in the seventh.
